Has been so much longer than I thought since my last post!! Have definitely been loving the slower country life. I realized just last week that I hadn't put up the last of the Laurel photos and I have almost finished my new project. So here is the last of the Laurel pics and a couple of my more recent project, La Luce. An Italian inspired country style of home.
The butchers block was store bought but I added some metal braces to the corners (spent tea lights) and a fax drawer front. Towel rail on the side.
I made the sink out of a nails packet. Sprayed it with a couple of coats of appliance white and bingo!! William Morris wallpaper and fabric for the sink curtain.
The delft blacksplah I printed out on glossy photo paper and used a stylus to make the grout lines.
I made this little stove such a long time ago. One of the first things I ever made.

La Luce, would so love a house like this. I'll post more pictures soon. I have almost finished it.
Be well!!

ReplyDeleteOOOhh, I LOVE your work so much!!! The last pics of the Laurels are as usual, crammed with delicious details and inspiring make-it-from-scratch-and-it-looks-perfect items!! You are so resourceful with those scraps! I will have to try the painted packaging for the sink idea... I am making a country sink (eventually) for my Rose Thorne Cottage! And the new project looks just divine! I really can't wait to see more!!! :)

Hi Carrie!
ReplyDeleteI am always THRILLED when I see what you have posted and this wrap up of the Laurels kitchen was lovely! I love your style and the way that you combine odd elements to make a PERFECT setting so when you look at the finished room, you couldn't imagine it to be any other way! :D I think that your little blue stove is Wonderful and it mixes in so beautifully with the farmhouse sink, with the boiler and the plate rack above it. I adore those kinds of details. Also love the extra metal you've added onto the butcher block; it kicks it up another notch. It is the right size for that small work space and is 100% useful too!
You certainly have the magic touch Carrie, and the Laurels has me spellbound.
and as for La Luce.... From what you've already teased us with, I can see that it too, has SPECTACULAR written all over it!!! :D
It's a lovely kitchen and I'm impressed with your sink. Nail packet? I would never have guessed. It's certainly a great recycle and I'm looking forward to more pictures of La Luce. I so enjoy sneaky peeks!
ReplyDeleteHa lol yes you did!! Thank you and bless. Ireland,
