Unfortunate but necessary

I don't like having to do this, I would normally just keep on moving and ignore it.  An old customer of mine saw a plate which looked identical to mine in another etsy shop and asked the store owner if she was selling AlavenderDilly plates because she wished to purchase these and some other things from the shop. Fair enough.  What proceeded after that was nothing short of just gobsmacking.  She received a series of ranting emails from this person where she was accused of actually being me setting up a fake Etsy profile. Huh? After reading the messages that were forwarded on to me I was very alarmed at the threats made, which is why I am writing this post.  I do not want any of my customers being sent any correspondence from someone who has an issue with me and what I do.  This person has already harrassed one customer, I am horrified at the thought of it happening to someone else.  So if anyone receives anything, just ignore it. Hit delete, spam, junk mail, whatever.  I'm so very sorry to everyone for this.

Be safe everyone, Carrie xx

  2. That is very alarming Carrie!!

I can never understand why people behave in this way. This is not what the creative community is about and perhaps if this person was a legitimately creative soul she would never act the way she has.

I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles.

  3. Carrie, how awful. Have you, or your customer, notified Etsy? This person sounds like trouble.

  4. ugh- that is not professional at all- even if she thought that she should never, ever have sent a nasty reply to the customer without knowing the truth. I just bought something from your etsy shop because I think you are an excellent artist. If someone I was trying to buy from treated me that way I would not be buying from that person EVER. I'm so sorry this happened to you and to one of your past customers.

  5. Hi Carrie! I'm so sorry this has happened. Yes, Etsy should be notified, at least by the past customer. As Kim said, I would never buy from someone who didn't treat me well. In fact, sometimes if things don't go so well with a seller, I can't stand to even look at the things I purchased. It's sweet people like you who I love to buy from. xo Jennifer

  7. Hello Carrie,
Some people are just disgusting and have no social skills or class. I hope you and your clients will not have any more trouble with this person. The seller should be the one to apologize!
    Hugs,

  9. How awful Carrie for you & your customer! I can only guess how upset you are....This seller won't have many customers for long with such behaviour. They can only dream of the loyal customer support you have. Your fabulous mini's & the exceptional customer care you provide make returning to your store a real treat!
You are highly appreciated, as a wonderful miniaturist & friendly, genuine person!
Sending hugs to you, my friend! x

  10. I find that whenever a copier or idea stealer is challenged they get nasty. Some of them are blatant in their theft too and there is no other explanation besides the fact that they are thieves. You have to remember they are dishonest to begin with and evidently have other serious character flaws.

This has happened to me as well as many other artists. Its a shame in many ways as they are duping the customer as well as cashing in on the original artist's hard work and trial and error, and hours or development and so on.

I do find that eventually as their talent and creativity is lacking they go away.
