Books and More Books, Finally.

Merry Happy Holidays and all that stuff!! 
I hope you all had a wonderful Chrissie!! I was able to finally finish of the Masion book shop in the week I had off. In between frantic many, many last minute trips to shops and school finishing and a lot of other things I can't even remember anymore!! I have the Maison for a little while. It is off to University next year and so I have it to get those last couple of things I couldn't get to before done. Nearly 300 books, 100 I bought from Lilliputstreasures on Etsy. Shelves are filled with scrolls of all sorts of things, letters and postcards, lost cup of tea. I am always doing that. A few of my nieces favorite things like the movie Amelie. Edith Piaf, Moscow ballet, vintage photographs and Audrey Hepburn. I discovered fake drawers are a good way to fill shelves as well.

      Thanks!! I took an amazing number of books to fill the shelves. Even after so many books I still had gaps so I filled them with letter, scrolls, maps etc. Anything!!

    It looks just as it should with all those layers of bits and pieces! You have done an Awesome job... the atmosphere is so wonderful and real looking... I wanted to step up to those shelves and take a book or two down to read!

      Thank you so much. I try really hard to make it appear as real as possible. We may not ever be able to own or live in such wonderful places in our RL but we can create them in miniature. xx

    Carrie, it looks so amazing! I was just looking through the older posts on this maison over the last few days, thinking how much I love it, so it's great to see you've had time to do a bit more to it (although I thought it looked pretty good as it was!). Amelie is one of my favourite movies too! Have a happy new year.

    Isn't it amazing how many accessories even a smaller project like this, can consume? In this case, it is all of those 300 pre-owned books, now waiting for someone to come along and pluck them from off of the shelf and relive the adventures written inside of each one. I LOVE this shop and I LOVE how you have filled it with such an abundance of what I LOVE MOST, and made it a place to seek out and linger in and lazily explore. Your style of mini-ing Always "WOW's" me, Carrie. :D

      Hi Elizabeth!! Thank you! I do love books and they are really very special. My niece Bek loves her books as well. I tried reading a book on my ipad once. It was awful, I couldn't finish it! Certainly made skipping to the last page very hard. Where's the fun in that!! xx

    Hi Carrie, what a conversation piece your gift to your niece will be when she is off to Uni . I can imagine you burning the midnight oil to get it finished. Love it all but the library ladder is so nice.
